Q:
What is cryptocurrency (crypto)?
A:
Q:
Does Kopa use crypto?
A:
Q:
Is crypto a scam?
A:

TLDR: It can be - it depends on the business underneath it.

DETAILED

We get it - crypto has had a pretty bad rap over the last few years. Especially with the trial of Sam Bankman-Fried, the cryptocurrency industry has been rocked by more than its fair share of scams. Just like when stocks first existed, check fraud (like the movie "Catch Me If You Can", and the early internet, criminals are at the forefront of how to take advantage of others. Financial history is full of people and companies who have used new ways to scam people, from Charles Ponzi (of ponzi schemes) to Enron, to Bernie Madoff, to Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos.

But what underlies them all is that the business didn't work on its own, and then lies were told to cover up the problem until it got too big. If one doesn't understand a business and how it makes money, or there is a lie underlying the whole thing, then it will be the cause of fraud.

At the heart of it, cryptocurrency is a technology that can be used for all types of purposes. We have seen the first wave of bad, but the waves of good are coming afterwards.

Kopa uses U.S. dollar treasury-backed stablecoins to make sure that we give you money into your wallet for as cheap and efficiently as possible to build your wealth, and to provide opportunity for investment for people around the world to do the same so that everyone can participate. It also allows us to be more transparent so you always know where your money is and only leave it in your possession. Good businesses take time to grow, but Kopa hopes to be among the new vanguard of groups utilizing the true value of crypto to achieve its massive potential!

Blockchain

Q:
What is blockchain?
A:
Q:
Is blockchain the same as crypto?
A:
Q:
Is blockchain a scam?
A:

TLDR: No. Actually it works really well!

DETAILED

Over the previous years you may have been hearing about the loud sibling: crypto. With high profile scams including Sam Bankman Fried, influencer rug pulls, and cybercriminals, it's gotten all the attention.

But blockchain is like the quiet, studious sibling that keeps their head down. Blockchain has only continued to work, improve, become much cheaper, and require less energy. And it has always has been the most secure and unhackable! It's gotten so good that large banks like JP Morgan have set up their own blockchain for transactions because it is proving to be superior version to our current financial system. It has become common knowledge that blockchain will be used in new ways across the financial sector, so using it in conjunction with a good business and stable asset can lead to entirely new results. It can do an ACH transaction that takes 2-5 days to send or a wire that takes a day and costs $20 to send in 10 minutes and for less than $0.0001.

Kopa is using blockchain for the same reasons: to make investing cheaper, faster, more transparent for you, and and open participation to people across the world. We look forward to building the forefront of making blockchain work for all with you!
